This is a joint Internet presence of the Project for Excellence in Journalism (PEJ), a research organization of the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, and the Committee of Concerned Journalists (CCJ). The site is funded by the Pew Charitable Trusts. It contains resources for citizens, journalists in all formats, and links to articles, books, educational tools and professional guidelines. You'll find great resources for a discussion of the roles of the producers and the community partners during your Sound Partners' project.
National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO)
This national organization represents local public health agencies. It works to help improve the health of all communities by promoting national policy, developing resources and programs, and supporting effective local public health practice and systems.
Federal Health Information Centers and Clearinghouses
A listing, organized by key word or alphabetically, for 2004 can be found on the Web. The organizations listed distribute information, provide referrals, and answer questions on specific topics. Many have Web sites or toll-free numbers. The key word lists have descriptive paragraphs for each entry, the alpha listing does not.

A nonprofit, educational organization working to improve the nation's health. Excellent issue briefs on a range of topics, including obesity, dental care and caregiving.
Women's Addiction Foundation

Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration
A comprehensive website that includes the 2000 National Household Survey on Drug Abuse, plus national statistics on alcohol and drug abuse and treatment.
