The National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse at Columbia University (CASA) works to inform Americans of the economic and social costs of substance abuse and its impact on their lives.

This is a joint Internet presence of the Project for Excellence in Journalism (PEJ), a research organization of the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, and the Committee of Concerned Journalists (CCJ). The site is funded by the Pew Charitable Trusts. It contains resources for citizens, journalists in all formats, and links to articles, books, educational tools and professional guidelines. This national organization represents local public health agencies. It works to help improve the health of all communities by promoting national policy, developing resources and programs, and supporting effective local public health practice and systems.
