WGCU Public Media and the Lee County Health Department created a campaign of events and programming to encourage using Fort Myers' natural spaces for fitness and healthy living. Get Up. Get Out. Get Active! reached the public through a daily radio talk show, special TV programming, a website and four community events.

WPFW Pacifica Radio used the airwaves to encourage and support listeners to exercise more, improve eating habits, and use techniques to manage stress.
Listening4yourHealth—a Wellness Call to Action was a partnership of WPFW, the DC Department of Health's Maternal and Family Health Administration, the DC Department of Parks and Recreation's Sports, Fitness and Health Office, the Metro DC Community Health Consortium, the Gaston-Porter Health Improvement Center, and area health and fitness experts.
Healthy Weight in Preschool Children—Way to Go! Weigh to Grow!
Healthy Weight in Preschool Children—Way to Go! Weigh to Grow! expanded its previous Sound Partners project to reach the families of children with education and support for healthy meals and eating habits that can prevent childhood obesity. Michigan Community Coordinated Child Care and WCMU Television targeted low-income families with obesity prevention messages through workshops, a website, and television programming.
Barrier Busters: Wellness for Life!
WDET-FM and the Detroit Radio Information Service, along with Senior Voice and the Hannan Foundation reached out to vulnerable seniors with practical information on living well. Barrier Busters: Wellness for Life! incorporateed multi-tiered, multi-media learning experiences to produce engagement, programming and referrals, then supplying ongoing information and social connection through targeted closed-circuit programming.
Commit 2B Fit–Activ8 Your Life
Half of Greene County, Ohio youth are overweight or at risk for being overweight, prompting Partnerships for Success in Fitness to launch a campaign targeting youth and their parents to promote physical activity and good food choices. The project was a collaboration between WYSO-FM and Wright State University Partnerships for Success, which involved teens to produce audio diaries, features and a half-hour radio program.
The Whole Communities Radio Project
The Whole Communities Radio Project examined the connections between the design of built environments and public health through a series of community events, panel/call-in radio programs and a radio documentary. The Coalition for a Livable Future and KBOO-FM sought to activate citizens to create and promote land use and transportation strategies that encourage and facilitate healthy living.
Ho Te’ca: Young Voice
KILI-FM Radio, the Oglala Tribe and partners at Youth Opportunity tapped the creative energy of teens, turning them into a team of radio producers at the "first ever" Radio Production Camp, broadcasting their program on the Pine Ridge Reservation radio station.
Health Makes Cents: Models for Promoting Health in Kentucky
Kentuckians are less healthy than most other Americans and the Foundation for a Health Kentucky and Kentucky Educational Television joined forces to improve the health status of the state through their project. Health Makes Cents: Models for Promoting Health in Kentucky, a 13-part TV series, informed viewers of successful community models for action and a Healthy LIfestyles toolkit complemented the media effort.
