Experience Corps is a service program for adult volunteers over the age of 55. Its goal is to solve serious social problems, beginning with literacy. More than 1,500 members serve as tutors and mentors to children in urban public schools and after-school programs in 13 cities.

A listing, organized by key word or alphabetically, for 2004 can be found on the Web. The organizations listed distribute information, provide referrals, and answer questions on specific topics. Many have Web sites or toll-free numbers. The key word lists have descriptive paragraphs for each entry, the alpha listing does not.
