The American Academy of Pediatrics

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) includes 55,000 members in North America who dedicate their efforts and resources to attain the optimal health, safety and well-being of infants, children, adolescents and young adults. The AAP publishes Pediatrics, its monthly scientific journal, produces patient education brochures, Healthy Kids magazine and a series of child care books. Many fact sheets and informational brochures are available on the AAP Web site. Each year, the AAP designates October as Child Health Month to emphasize the importance of preventive health care and other child health issues.
