Role-Playing to Help Solve Problems

Resolve the following scenarios in win/win terms. The role-playing should take place in front of the group, and those in the "audience" should be prepared to offer feedback at the end of each enactment. Everyone should have a copy of the problem-solving steps.

Scenarios:

  • A partner writes a press release that doesn't mention the station, and the major local newspaper runs a Sunday feature on the initiative without mentioning the station's role.
  • Two community organizations disagree on the best way to handle outreach efforts.
  • The community wants the station to take an unrealistically advocacy-oriented role in the outreach effort.
  • The station agrees to run PSAs, but only after 11:00 p.m.
