Over the past few months, a number of Sound Partners projects have been recognized for their achievements in a variety of broadcast and community award competitions. Additional Funding and Special Recognition:
KCAW-FM, Sitka, AK
Teach Your Children Well received $60,000 from the Reuben E. Crossett Endowed Alaskan Fund, $12,000 from Islands Counseling and the Center for Community, and $26,000 from Alaska Children's Fund, for a total package of $98,000 for project expansion.
KZUM-FM, Lincoln, NE
Maintaining the Health Care Safety Net received $26,400 in additional funding from the Nebraska Excellence in Health Care grant for program continuation.
KVMR-FM, Nevada City, CA
Who Cares? received special recognition from the Nevada County Board of Supervisors for their role in helping to secure an additional $400,000 from the California state budget for county mental health services.
WKMS-FM, Murray, KY
Promises to Keep received a $10,000 grant from the Kentucky Arts Council and a $10,000 match from Murray State University for program continuation.
